Support for Jana and the Russell-Loewen Family
Donation protected

Hello Nelson and beyond community,
Our very dear friend, who only ever thinks of helping and caring for others, is now taking her turn needing help (though we know she’d never ask!). Jana Russell-Loewen is a beloved member of the Nelson, BC community, but she also has far-reaching ties across Canada and around the globe. Late last week, while standing on her front porch—expecting her kids home from school any minute, about to walk her sweet dog, Tula—a driver lost control of his vehicle, accidentally stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake and hitting Jana. Friends
and family are, ultimately, deeply thankful that Jana (and Tula!) have survived this serious crash. Jana is still in the ICU and her injuries will affect her ability to function wholly for many months to come.
Jana is a self-employed teacher for student learners, and is known by friends and family as a giver, someone who tirelessly helps and supports others always. Her injuries from this scary incident will keep her from being able to work for 3-6 months, and despite her determination to be self-sufficient, we know that she and Dave will need financial support to heal, keep their family fed, house cleaned, and bills paid.
Any support you, or anyone you know, can offer to make Jana and her family’s next few months during recovery easier, will be gifted to her with our utmost gratitude.
With love,
