The Rubia Family

Hi! My name is Gayle and I am fundraising for the Rubia Family. My friend, Michelle Masicampo Rubia, one of the most caring nurse I know, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer in April 2021. She has been on disability since then and is on her third round of chemotherapy for nodules in her lungs. She has to stop the chemotherapy temporarily because the second round resulted in esophageal varices, and at one point bled. Chemotherapy will resume once her varices heal. Last March 2023- her daughter, Ray, who is in 7th grade, was diagnosed with AVM and recently had her craniotomy on April 4th, 2023. Ray is doing well post operatively, and is back to school.

Her husband, Rustom works full-time as a Surgical Tech at Sinai Hospital. Their firstborn, Ralph is currently in 8th grade.

We are appealing to your kindness and generosity, so that we may be able to lessen the financial burden of this family as they are going through these challenging times.
