Hello family,
I hope you all are well. I'm excited to introduce the Rosa Lee Douglas Education Scholarship! I'm even more excited to start this scholarship while Grams is here to witness it herself and see the fruits of her legacy. It has been a goal of mine for many years. This page will serve as a place for everyone to contribute whatever you can to the fund whenever you are able to do so. Our goal is to disburse $1,000 each semester to our recipient this school year and to gradually increase the fund and select more recipients over the years. I'd like to send the first disbursement out to our first recipient at the beginning of each semester. Please read below to learn more about our first recipient. I'm grateful for you all. Love you! God bless. - Cyrell

Our first recipient is Ms. Ke’leyah Jonay Stampley. She's a member of New Beach Grove. She lives with her grandmother and her siblings in Baton Rouge, LA. She'll be attending Southeastern University this year with a goal to transfer to her dream school, LSU, to study psychology.

"Hi my name is Ke’leyah Jonay Stampley, I’m 17 years old, I attended Broadmoor High School, and graduated this past May. I enjoy helping take care of my siblings, and honestly, I love being someone they can count on. Whether it’s helping them get ready for school, giving advice, or just spending time together, I enjoy being involved in their lives. I’ve been interested in Psychology since middle school. Something about the way the mind works has always fascinated me. I love learning about why people think, feel and behave the way they do. It’s helped me understand others better, and it’s definitely made me to more thoughtful and aware in my everyday life. Along with Psychology, I’ve always had a deep love for the arts. I find peace and expression in drawing and painting, like giving shape to thoughts, I can’t always put into words. I also play the piano, which has become one of my favorite ways to relax and focus. There’s something really calming about letting my fingers move across the keys. And reading is also a big part of my life, I love to read. I’m always diving into stories or books about things that spark my imagination. All these things help me feel more connected to myself and the world ,in a more creative and thoughtful way. Someday I want to be the person, I saw myself as when I was younger. I hope to help make a positive difference in the world that I’m about to join. Thank you!"
