Roger T. Knollmeyer was one of the top cross-country and track runners in Massachusetts during his four years on the Mt. Greylock running teams. During his senior year, he held several of the local cross-country course records. He was always a top finisher in the Western Mass. and State Championships. Under the coaching of Bill Girard, Roger excelled on the Mt. Greylock teams and went on to run cross-country on the storied Villanova University team.

Roger was a handsome, good-natured, and well-liked student at Mt. Greylock who was looked up to by classmates and teammates. He exhibited a passion for running and for life! Unfortunately, Roger's life was cut short after a long illness.

His family would like to carry on Roger's love for sports and living life to the fullest by helping Lanesborough Students, who attend Mt. Greylock High School, attain their college education, including the sports and social experiences college offers. In partnership with the Lanesborough New Ashford Dollars for Scholars, the Knollmeyer family has established the Roger T. Knollmeyer Fund. Each year, one graduating Mt. Greylock senior who embodies Roger's love for running, leadership skills, and zest for life will be chosen to receive a scholarship in his name.
