The Roden Journey
Donation protected
Will Roden is a precious, special needs six-year-old boy from Lafayette, Georgia. One of Katie White & Chris Roden’s two children, he was born with a rare form of epilepsy that caused him to develop differently. Just like his sister, he is affected by LCA- causing him to be without peripheral vision, and totally blind in dim/dark lighting. His mother has not been able to work due to taking care of him full-time. Thankfully, there is a gene replacement therapy with amazing treatment to save Will’s eyesight- his sister has already gone through this operation successfully. In October, Will and Katie will travel to Kellogg Eye Center in Michigan for a consultation, followed by two surgeries in November. The first eye surgery will be November 10, with the second one on November 25. They will stay in Michigan from November 10 to the beginning of December. Housing, transportation, and food will be significantly costly, and Chris will also be out of work for the surgeries. There are numerous expenses that have been and will be incurred throughout Will’s treatment and surgery. The operation alone is $1 million, and will not be fully covered by insurance. Any financial support at all will be of great help. Thank you.
