The Robin McCollum Room at The Hope Lodge

Donation protected

As our family has been coming to grasp with the reality that we are nearing the end of Mom’s 15yr battle with cancer, a lot of conversations have taken place. The last couple of weeks,  we have been asking ourselves, “How do you honor the legacy of someone like our Mom who has touched so many lives?” What can you ever do to show how much she has meant? Flowers? They fade. Food? It’s wastes. Candles? They burn out.  Then, we had an idea. Over the past 15years, our family has been helped greatly through the Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge in Birmingham. It’s similar to a Ronald McDonald House where families can stay while taking treatment. Our family has spent many weeks and months at this facility which allowed us to continue fighting the cancer together.

Because of the role The Hope Lodge has played in our lives, we have decided to honor Mom’s legacy and continue her spirit of helping and inspiring others by sponsoring a room for one year at the Hope Lodge as part of Project 33. The room will be named in honor of Robin McCollum with a plaque on the door. As part of the sponsorship, we will be able to leave decorations and inspirational items in the room for the next guests. To accomplish this, we will raise $5,000 and send to the Hope Lodge in one check. However, we need your help. We are asking that all of our friends and family make a donation of whatever you can, $25, $50, $100 or more. With your help, we can ensure that Mom’s legacy of helping others continues.
