As many of us are aware, the hospitality industry here in Chicago, along with countless other places in the world has been severely impacted by the spread of COVID-19. We are grateful for the measures being taken by officials so that this does not become something that we as a city cannot recover from. While we await word from our Governor and Mayor, we at The Robey Hotel have banned together to do our part to help one another out, so that we may return healthy, both physically and emotionally!
Unfortunately, we will all be out of work for the foreseeable future. With that being said we realize there are many people facing great hardships. The fear of not knowing if they will eat that day, or have a roof over their heads is becoming something that could soon be a reality.
We consider our team here to be a family, from the engineers fixing our elevators in the summer, to the barbacks running buckets of ice to Up Room countless times on a busy Saturday. Housekeepers keep our rooms and bathrooms tidy and clean, and front desk staff direct not only hotel guests, but locals to the many hotel outlets that are sadly out of operation. It is in times of hardship that families do all that they can to take care of one another. Which is exactly what we are trying to do here.
With our resources being tapped out, we are reaching out to the beautiful industry here in Chicago, the friends and guests we've come to care for, for some much needed and greatly appreciated help. From now until April 30, 2020 we will be raising funds to assist all of our staff. If you've ever had a smoking cocktail, snacked on the tastiest popcorn, got yelled at for keeping your drink on the ledge, or came to show your out-of-towners the incredible view we love to look at everyday, please consider a donation.
For those amazing individuals who donate $100 or more you will receive the following once The Robey and it’s many venues are open again:
- $100 donation will receive a $50 Food and Beverage gift card available to redeem in any outlet.
- $500 donation will receive a $100 Food and Beverage gift card available to redeem in any outlet AND a 1-night stay in the hotel.
- $1000 donation will receive a $250 Food and Beverage gift card available to redeem in any outlet AND a 2-night stay in the hotel .
You will receive the highest tier incentive you achieve.
All employees who have been affected by the closing will be helped through this Go Fund Me. Each and every penny raised will go directly to the hardworking staff that love, and can’t WAIT, to serve you again. A wholehearted and sincere thank you from each and every one of us for your shares and donations.
