Update: We now know RJ has gone home to be with God. Funds raised will support his funeral expenses. It is our hope that, with remaining funds, a scholarship can be established in RJ’s memory.

Dear RJ's Champions,

My name is Liz Retana and I have the honor of being RJ's teacher.

I intentionally use present tense as we continue to pray that this is all a misunderstanding.

As his family continues to navigate this unbelievable tragedy, I and others close to the family wanted to find a way to support them as the search continues to bring RJ home.

While we all hold out hope that he is alive, evidence suggests that RJ has passed away.

Those who love RJ and his family are hoping to offset expenses during this time.

In addition, if evidence is correct, this fund will generate support for funeral expenses when the time is right.

Thank you for never giving up on him; we have to bring him home.
