My name is Joanne, and I am the mother of Robert E. Bonzani!

The Robert E. Bonzani Foundation is being created in honor of my son, Robert.

Robert was more than just a name—he was a light. He was kind, deeply caring, and the kind of person who showed up for others without hesitation. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued.

Like so many others, Robert struggled at times. And like so many families, we trusted that the help he was receiving was leading him in the right direction.

But today, I am left asking questions that too many families are now asking:

Are we fully understanding the effects of the medications being prescribed?

Are warning signs being missed?

Are families given all the information they need to truly protect their loved ones?

The Robert E. Bonzani Foundation is being created to bring awareness to the potential risks, side effects, and overuse of prescription medications—especially when it comes to mental health.

This foundation will focus on:

• Educating families on what to watch for

• Encouraging informed conversations between patients and providers

• Advocating for better awareness of medication side effects

• Supporting those who may be silently struggling

No family should have to experience this kind of loss without understanding what may have contributed to it.
