The road to transplant is long...

Hiya! My name is Matty, and I am in the process of getting on the list for a double transplant of both a kidney and a pancreas. I have been diabetic for about 15 years and have been in kidney failure and on dialysis for five years now. I am 47 years old and have so much more I would like to do with this life. I have been active in theater in my community for almost 20 years, and I work as a receptionist at Oceanside Veterinary Clinic.

The process of getting a transplant is not only a stressful endeavor but also an expensive one. Right now, I can only work two days a week due to dialysis, so the costs can really add up for someone like me. Upon transplant, I will be in recovery at OHSU in Portland for up to three months. In the meantime, I need to be able to cover bills so that I will still have my apartment when I return to Florence.
