The Jonesboro High School Majestic Marching Cardinals are once again taking their talents to a national stage. We have been invited to perform in the iconic Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, one of the most prestigious parades in the world and a celebration watched by millions.

This is more than a parade. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our students.

Many of our band members have never traveled outside of Georgia, let alone across the country. Jonesboro High School is a Title I school in Clayton County where 100 percent of students receive free lunch. Financial barriers often make experiences like this feel out of reach. But our students continue to show up, work hard, and rise above the odds.

The Majestic Marching Cardinals represent far more than music. They represent resilience, discipline, pride, and possibility. These students rehearse countless hours, balance academics and responsibilities, and carry themselves with excellence everywhere they go.

Their legacy speaks for itself. From marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to being featured in a Super Bowl commercial with Usher, from performing at the White House to halftime shows for the New Orleans Saints, this band continues to prove that greatness can come from anywhere.

Now, they have earned the honor of marching in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
