The road to France - Representing GB
Donation protected
I am Sarah-Jane Brown a dedicated amateur rider who combines competing with working full time for Cornwall Council. I have owned Fliss (Dolmen Du Concorde) for 6 years and we have come a long way together. From my lowest riding point where a series of accidents including breaking my hip (when I was told I may not ride again) meant my confidence was shot and I was too frightened to ride her. We have progressed together from starting at 70cm to now enjoying 1.30 classes. Our consistent form this year has meant we have been selected for the European Veterans Show Jumping team. The competition takes place in France 7-10 September.
It's a huge honour to represent my Country and wear the Union Jack, however, to transport a horse across the channel is an expensive process, particularly post-Brexit. The paperwork, vets costs, transport, ferry and customs will cost about £3,000 to get us to the event to compete. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and one I can't turn down but if anyone is able to help support (and hopefully feel part of) the adventure it would be hugely appreciated.
