Bridget's Road to Miss Massachusetts 2021

Hello everyone!
I have very exciting news to share! I have entered into and I am officially a Miss Massachusetts Pageant contestant for this upcoming 2021 competition. This new experience is already proving to have its challenges by forcing me to step out of my comfort zone, but I believe the race will be very impactful and rewarding. The pageant is part of The Miss Universe Organization, which “empowers women to develop the confidence they need to achieve their personal best.”
Here is a little information about me...
I attended MCPHS University in Boston, MA where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Pre-med and Health Sciences, Cum-Laude and with Phi Kappa Phi honors. I am now a first-year dental student at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois pursuing my dream of becoming a Dentist. My reasons for competing in this pageant are to spread awareness about learning disabilities, how to navigate the stigmas that surround them, and prove you can accomplish any dream if you persevere. In the 2nd grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability. My early struggles kept me in a box of insecurities and self-doubt. If you asked 8-year-old Bridget if she could imagine herself where I am today, she would have told you that attending college let alone dental school was an impossible dream. However, with the support of my parents and teachers, I overcame my disability. I want my story to inspire other young girls and women, with disabilities and without, that they too can do anything they want.
