CMDC On The Move!!!

The Chicago Multicultural Dance Center continues to change lives everyday by providing focused dance instruction to the children of Chicago and its surrounding communities. We are a nonprofit (501(c)3) organization offering high-quality dance instruction in an environment that celebrates the diversity of our students and the communities they originate from. We are also the only school in the world that teaches Hiplet, an art form that fuses classical pointe technique with Hip-Hop & urban dance styles.

Artistic Director Homer Bryant, former principal dancer with The Dance Theatre of Harlem has been changing lives through dance for over 30 years, providing a welcoming environment for students of all abilities & backgrounds to pursue serious dance training. We intend to allow students from every community, especially underserved communities, to experience our dance education and environment. We never turn a dancer away because of their inability to pay.

In addition to our students, we endeavor to expand the reach of Hiplet Ballerinas, or professional company, as they continue to mentor and influence children around the globe. Our message of inclusivity, in conjunction with our Hiplet performances, Lecture Demos, Workshops, etc., will further our mission of impacting the lives of children through dance.

Our costs are ongoing, especially as we look at ways to expand our programming to reach more children Every donation expands that reach and assists us with reaching our goals. Some of our goals are:

-Full Tuition Scholarships for Students

-Provision of Dance Attire for Students

-Crime Prevention programs incorporating dance workshops

-Youth mentorship programs

-Health & Wellness programs for dancers

-Mental Health Awareness and Support for Dancers

-Programs for children with Disabilities
