The Roach - Local YYC Indie Short Film
Donation protected
We are a group of Up-and-Coming Film Makers who are starting our very first Indie production, a 10-minute short film "The Roach" written and Directed by J.J. Kaur
Inspired by Kafka's Metamorphosis - The Roach explores themes of mental health, self-image, and the cost of self-sacrifice
We've already gotten our location locked-in and our crew set. As students in the Film and Video Production Program at SAIT, we've spent the last year (some of us two or more years) seeing what it takes to make a production and we now have a project that we are passionate to put our time, money and energy into, beyond the constraints of working within a classroom setting. The flexibility to explore our full potential within our own timeframe, and handpick our crew, is what has really led us to start to do this production on our own.
We've chosen some of the most talented, enthusiastic, and professional people we've had the pleasure of working with this year to join us on this project and we need your help to cover the upfront costs for this production. Such as raw materials and supplies for the art department and crew costs like craft services and travel expenses.
Once completed this film will be submitted to a variety of festivals both locally and internationally where we can represent the diverse talent and vision of Alberta's Film Scene.
