Help Us Honor Grandma Rose's Final Wishes

Hello everyone,

I am Leah Rose, loving Grandaughter of Ms. Rose Marcum. I am reaching out to our cherished family, friends, and the wonderful river community that Grandma Rose held so dear. At the remarkable age of 103, she gracefully journeyed through life, and as she neared her 104th birthday, she wanted nothing more than to be on the property she loved in Monte Rio, surrounded by her cherished family.

Born in 1920 in Manila and having moved to the Russian River in the 1950s, Grandma Rose embraced a life filled with love, joy, and community. Her last wish was simple yet profound - to pass away on the property she adored, with her family by her side.

Grandma Rose was not only a vibrant part of the community but also found solace in the company of the gorgeous redwoods and all the beautiful birds on her property. The melody of nature brought her immense joy, adding to the beauty of her final moments.

We are hoping to raise funds to fulfill Grandma Rose's final wishes, to be laid to rest with her husband Charlie, and to alleviate the financial burden on my mother, Elizabeth, affectionately known as Cha Cha. The funds will contribute to Grandma Rose's funeral arrangements and enable us to host a celebration of her life with our friends and family from Monte Rio, featuring Grandma's favorite Filipino foods.

Grandma Rose's Filipino heritage was a significant part of her identity, and she had a deep love for two particular dishes - lumpia and pansit. In her honor, a portion of the funds will go towards ensuring that these Filipino favorites are present at the celebration, creating a feast reminiscent of the joy she brought into our lives.
