Hello, We are the Ritchie Family; Jim, Brittany, James, Will, and Jonathan. Jim is working as a new tattoo artist at #1NK Tattoo in Midland and Brittany is a Teacher at YSWPCS in Baldwin. James, Will, and Jonathan are our children. We lived for the past almost 14 years in a rental home. On March 23rd due to heavy rain/storms, part of our home collapsed. The front wall of our home collapsed and the settling also caused the back deck to collapse. The city  deemed our home uninhabitable and we were no longer permitted to live in our home or be inside to collect out items/furniture. Unfortunately, we did not have rental insurance so we are unable to get assistance to recover the costs of this situation. We have been living in a hotel in Cranberry Township since March. The cost of the hotel is $500 a week which is much higher than our previous rent and has taken up a large chunk of our savings. Fortunately, we were able to finally find a home for purchase! However, our closing date is July 14th. We put a down payment on the new house and we still have to pay a 2% closing cost and now we have 6 more weeks of weekly rent to pay at the hotel until we close on our home and can move. We have spent all of our savings at this point as we have been living in the hotel for over 11 weeks. We also will be moving into our new home without furniture. Since our rental home was deemed unsafe the city will not allow us to get our items from the house for safety reasons. If you can help, your contributions would go towards weekly rent at the hotel, our closing costs, and new furniture/essential items for our new house. We are not typically the ones who ask for help and this is hard for us to post. Our friends and family that have rallied around us have encouraged us to reach out to others too. We do not expect anything from anyone, but we genuinely appreciate everyone who can donate, simply share, or say a prayer. Thank you so much for helping us get back on our feet.
