The Rita Recovery Fund

The Pearl Street Family is starting a GoFundMe for Rita Sligh. Rita was attacked, robbed and savagely beaten while walking home from work on Feb 8th. She missed a month of work and has medical bills to settle. We are hoping this fund will cover those medical bills and compensate for the lost wages.

For those of you who frequent Pearl Street, you understand what a valuable asset she is to our team. She has been with us since the Cantina Marina days and has anchored the bar at Pearl Street Warehouse for over 5yrs now.

While we can not right the wrong that was done to her, we can only hope to make her whole and hope she continues her employment with us. Rita has lived in SW DC for quite a few years and we hope she continues to do so, although it is not an easy thing to do after such a vicious assault one block from your home.
