Working in radio has given me so much, but it has also helped open my eyes to the imbalance of equality. After much soul-searching, I realized something had to be done. If I wasn’t the catalyst, then who would be? As the saying goes, “Be the Change You Want to See in Others”. Change requires action, so, there’s no better time to put action behind my hashtag #BeAGoodHuman than now.
That’s, basically, what led me to create The Ride for Change –an annual motorcycle ride that visits 10 communities in Texas (and Oklahoma).
During this year’s ride, we will be raising funds, and collecting band instruments, for local students in these communities so they can participate in their school band.
These are the markets The Ride for Change will visit:
When you donate, please comment which market you'd like your donation to benefit.
Being in band, in middle and high school, helped shape who I am today. It further enriched my love of music. Heck, it even taught me how to march in time, which was beneficial years later in the military. Being in band also gave me a community of friends to fellowship with, that I probably wouldn’t have had. I learned many life lessons, thanks to band, and I hope to help others with their dreams of joining their school band.
Who knows, that person we help with an instrument just may be the next big star we play on radio stations across the country.”
100% of your donations will go to purchasing (and repairing) band instruments for schools in the communities mentioned above.
