Statement

Hi! My name is Anghelo George Eleftheriou, and I am raising funds to help renovate our beloved Greek Orthodox Church. This place has been more than just a building to me—it has been a source of faith, community, and connection with God.

Over the past few years, my connection with God has deepened, and this church has played a crucial role in that journey. One of the most meaningful aspects has been the ability to fully engage with the hymns, as they are sung in both Greek and English compared to them being only read in Greek in my home country, Cyprus. This has allowed me to truly understand the messages of faith and worship. Beyond that, the Greek community and the events hosted here have been incredible in fostering a sense of belonging. Throught this, I've managed to build stronger relationships with both my faith and the people around me.

Plan

On the 6th April 2025, I am running the Southampton Marathon and with the church name on the back of my shirt, I am aiming to complete the run in under 4 hours. Through the power and energy of God, I am hoping to achieve this goal.

Where will the money go?

Renovations of the church and its hall will be conducted with the money donated. The church is getting old, and through your generous contributions, the funds will go directly toward necessary updates, ensuring that this sacred space remains a welcoming and inspiring home for our community.

How much money needs to be raised?

I've set the goal to be £500 however any money, whether more or less than the target amount will be massive in aiding the Church's endeavours.
