Our hearts are broken for our friends as they walk this road ahead, we wanted to set this up to hopefully provide for some of Adam, Maria, and their family's needs over the coming years. You can follow their Caring Bridge page for more of their story, but they learned this summer that their 7 year old son has Juvenile Huntington's Disease. This is an awful disease that will cause Colin's brain to deteriorate and slowly shut down. With the onset of symptoms already appearing and it being the juvenile form, we aren't really sure how long Colin will be with us here on earth before he meets Jesus. Knowing their time is limited Adam and Maria would like to be able to make some family memories together before Colin is wheelchair bound and is unable to participate in some of the activities that every parent dreams of taking their kid to do. We know there will also be medical costs as they walk this road. While those exact needs remain unknown at this time some things they anticipate needing are a special wheelchair, a vehicle to transport him in, making their home handicap accessible, hospital bills, language assistive devices, funeral and burial expenses, and many other things that will come up along the way.
