We are asking for help to raise the funding necessary for us to begin, and continue thereafter, to send copies of "How To Write Your Own Check" to our incarcerated populations everywhere. The Author of this book, Kelly Patrick Riggs and I are both previously incarcerated individuals who have had to endure the realities of Re-Entering back into society, but in two very different ways...
Kelly not only followed the outlines given in this book, but went on to make them a reality and become a successful and published author while incarcerated who is now donating much of the proceeds of this writing back into the cause. I, on the other hand, was released with no plan and no means to get by, all I had was the will to succeed and a Bachelors degree I earned in prison. I would have loved and utilized a tool such as this to the fullest extent while I was incarcerated if I had the chance to. While we both have made it past the "expected" reoffending statistic thus far, many of our incarcerated population will not. That is why Kelly has written this how to book on becoming successful, and therefore beating the odds and losing the need to reoffend to survive.
The book "How to Write Your Own Check" is just the beginning of what the newly established Re-Entry Coalition plans on doing to prepare those regaining their freedom for the bumpy roads ahead. Many people have been impacted by our Justice System in some way, and for anyone who pays attention, it is obvious the tremendous obstacles that are in the way of even trying to gain success, and our true goal is to eliminate those obstacles starting with the distribution of this How to Guide.
Please help us to reach this goal which is needed for the purpose of printing more copies and paying postage to mail a copy to each inmate. These individuals deserve a chance to change, and helping them succeed today is a more secure future for all tomorrow.
