Hi. My name is Kerry Smith and I'm a retired applied ethics university lecturer. I want to record and share a presentation on Lifespan Care Values. Here's why:
Policy makers lack a firm, legal foundation for making the best long-term decisions. I will show how embedding lifespan care in law and social norms can help address our current crises of poverty, the underfunded social safety net, the increasing wealth gap, and the collapsing environment.
At the end of this 45-minute session, you will understand the Western philosophies of incidental and life-span care, how we might bring them into balance, and the actions that could make it happen.
You will find this of particular interest if you work in the fields of Human Rights, Economics, Politics and Government Policy, Social Services/Welfare, Political and Social Sciences, Health Care Policy, and Education Curriculum. Working professionals in these fields will take priority should the room exceed capacity. It is not suitable for children. This presentation will be recorded for sharing on social media.
It will take place at 12:15 p.m. Eastern time, September 15, 2026, in the
Front Lounge, Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, 53 Yonge Street, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Mr. Smith is a retired corporate communications consultant to many Canadian government departments and agencies. He has worked at all levels of government in Canada as well as for not-for-profits and private enterprises. His book The Well-being First Economy was published in 2020 on Amazon.
Money raised will pay for the room rental ($154), a cinematographer ($1940) who will record and edit the presentation and an interview with me, and advertising costs on social media and elsewhere ($710+).
Please share this fundraiser with your contacts by using the share button beside the donate button. Thank you.
