The Red Rose School
Donation protected

Dear Friends and family,
As you probably know, both my brothers / my cousins Jakob and Oscar climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2018/2019 to raise money for kids in the Red Rose School in Kenya. On August 1, we will be attempting to do the same thing and raise the fundraising bar.
The Red Rose School is home to some 400 children with much kindness, laughter, and intelligence. We know this because the Red Rose school is the 'sister' school of East Side Middle School in NYC, Emma's school, and over the the last three years Emma has been Skyping regularly on Friday mornings. During these 'Skype Kenya' sessions, we sing and dance for each other and talk about our daily lives.
Unfortunately, the Red Rose School doesn't have the funds and materials to help all its students reach their full potential. The monthly rent is crippling and COVID has hit fundraising very hard. Jakob and Oscar very successfully raised money for the school when they climbed in years past and we would now like to raise the bar by helping the school buy a piece of land so that it no longer needs to pay rent..
And this is where we want to ask for your help: Don’t worry, we are not asking you to climb the mountain with us, but we would like to ask you to find it in your heart to donate money to help the school buy a plot of land for the school. The plot will cost about 60 thousand US dollars, and we think we can achieve this because this year we are combining our efforts with the Lori Rosner McDermott Fund.
Lori Rosner McDermott was the secretary at East Side Middle School for many years. She was always very kind and caring, and she was the creator, coordinator and overall leader of the Skype Kenya program. Sadly, Lori suddenly passed in December and in her memory, Lori's family has now created a fund to also raise money for buying the plot of land for the Red Rose School. Amazingly, this effort has already raised 45 thousand dollars. So our goal is to now try to raise the remaining 15 thousand dollars!
It would be fantastic if you can help us achieve this extraordinary goal. The Red Rose School can benefit so much with even a small contribution from you. Small or large, we will be forever grateful and is of course tax deductible. Thank you for your support!
