On the night of August 13th, just before midnight, our family’s life changed forever. A sudden, spontaneous fire tore through our home, destroying everything we had built and cherished. In a matter of minutes, our safety net, our possessions, and our sense of security were gone.

By what we can only call a miracle, we made it out in time—just minutes before the fire consumed the house and caused our cars to explode. We are beyond grateful to say that everyone is safe: mom Natalie, dad Kass, Grandma (who was staying overnight to help with the baby), our four little boys (Ryan, 7; Liam, 5; Mason, 3; and baby Remi, only 2 weeks old at the time), as well as our dogs Chloe and Mocha, and our new kitten, Oreo.

This event has made us re-evaluate life and what is truly important. We are so grateful to have survived this fire without a scratch on any of our children or family members. It has also reminded us of the beautiful network of loving family, friends, and community that surrounds us. Just know that all of your text messages, calls, donated items for the kids and us, and everything you’ve done means the world to us.

The outpouring of love and concern has been overwhelming, and many have asked how they can help. At the request of so many, we are starting this GoFundMe to provide a place where people can offer support as we begin the long and difficult journey of rebuilding our lives from the ground up.

Every donation—big or small—means the world to us. It will help us replace the essentials, find stability for our children, and slowly start to rebuild a sense of home again.
