The Razor - A Short Horror Film

Donation protected
- Do you support independent film?
- Would your name rolling through the credits bring the light back into your cold, dead eyes?
- Perhaps the phrase "drama with a splash of horror" really wets your jibs?
- If nothing else, maybe you're just a sucker for a good bromance?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then HEY! I'm talking to you.

"The Razor"
is a proof-of-concept short horror/drama about a connection between two friends left fractured in one's extended and unplanned absence. After accepting a dinner invitation from a close childhood friend, Isaiah, a twenty-something enjoying a comfortable and steady living, thinks he's in for a relaxing evening of nostalgia and halfway decent food. But when the check arrives and neither party is willing to budge, the conversation continues and things quickly take a dark turn.

With influences ranging from My Dinner with Andre to the works of H.P. Lovecraft, this blend of conversational drama and cosmic discomfort is guaranteed to be the feel-bad short film of the late summer/early fall.

Hi, my name's Charlie and I'm a senior at New York University studying Film and Television. One of my goals as a writer/director has always been to shoot something significant on film. As a student filmmaker, attempting to make a short using 16mm negatives can be risky and very very pricy. Along with that, covering equipment, sets, and handfuls of hungry cast and crew proves pretty difficult when you're already deep in the hole of student debt. This isn't me sugar-coating a desperate cry for pity. This is me blatantly stating a desperate cry for pity. Please, save me from the jaws of parental disappointment once again, this cat's only got so many lives left before they never let me move in with them again.

In all seriousness, myself and many people involved with this project thus far have dedicated years of our lives to pursuing film as an art form and career.  It would mean the world to us if we could see this vision come to fruition. And with a few minutes of your time and pocketfuls of your hard-earned, living wages, we'd love to make that happen, and turn the frowns of other disappointed parents everywhere upside-down.

More to come soon.
