I can never remember a time when I did not want to be a mother. The plan was to fall in love, get married, and start a family soon. Ivan and I got married in 2013. The first two years were dedicated to learning and growing closer as husband and wife. We decided in 2015 that I would stop taking birth control so we could finally begin a family. I imagined getting pregnant quickly, but that did not happen. In 2016 I was diagnosed with PCOS. PCOS Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) affects 1 out of 10 women of childbearing age. In childbearing women, PCOS can cause a hormonal imbalance which can lead to infertility. In 2018 I started going to the fertility clinic where I went through 3 rounds of pills and injections, but still no baby. Feeling a little discouraged I searched for another plan. That’s when my doctor recommended IVF. In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus. This is an intricate process. Therefore, the financial commitment of IVF can feel like an astronomical number. Infertility is strenuous and hoping has been painful. It is important to us that we can finally have the family we have always dreamed of. In lieu of the financial commitment we are asking our friends and family to purchase a puzzle piece for $10.00. We will put your name on the back of each puzzle piece you purchase. We hope to be able to put the puzzle together and put it up in our future baby’s room. Purchasing a puzzle piece helps us grow closer to raising a total of $10,000. We already have a bit of a start so $6500 is the remainder of what is needed. Any donation of support is appreciated. We thank you in advance for helping in giving us a chance to one day welcome Baby Raymond!
