The QRH Remembrance March for the Babs Mill Boys

In memory of the four Babs Mill Boys - Thomas, Finlay, Samuel and Jack, and with the support and wishes from the families, please join us in raising money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

On Sunday 11th December 2022, three young boys named Thomas, Samuel, Finlay we’re at Babs Mill In Birmingham being adventurous as all kids are. Forgetting the dangers taught to them by their parents l, they ventured out onto a frozen lake and tragically fell through the ice. A fourth child named Jack courageously tried to aid the three boys along with passers-by, but sadly Jack also fell into the lake. After a quick response from the Emergency Services, all of the boys were recovered from the lake but sadly none would survive the tragic incident.

This has sent shockwaves through every community, including members of the British Army. It is for this reason that soldiers from the Queen’s Royal Hussar’s have embarked on a mission to walk 100+ miles from our camp in Tidworth (Wiltshire), to Babs Mill Lake (Birmingham) with the aim of raising money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital, which is a cause close to the hearts of the families involved.

The March will commence on Sunday 15th January 2023, and work it’s way through Swindon, Burford, Warwick, and Finally Birmingham where we shall hold a service for the four boys and their families. During the March our aim is to raise money along the way, as well as exposure and awareness for a petition to posthumously award 10 year old Jack Johnson the George Cross, for exhibiting such selfless commitment and courage during his attempted rescue.
