On Wednesday, February 28th our family received news no family ever wants to hear. Our sister, Meghan Massey Pybus’ husband Brian was found unresponsive in his office and was being airlifted to Traditions Hospital in Port St Lucie, Florida. He was rushed to the ICU where it was discovered he had suffered a deep hemorrhagic stroke and his chances of survival were slim. Anyone who knows Brian would know that if anyone could survive such a devastating diagnosis, he could, and by the grace of God, he did.
After ten days in ICU, with Meghan never leaving his side, he was moved to PCU and finally after two weeks in the hospital, he was transferred to Encompass Rehabilitation Center in Stuart, FL. His story has been truly a miracle in itself and a testament to God’s grace and Brian’s fight to survive and get better. His fight will now continue as he now must relearn the basic functions everyone takes for granted. While we have full faith he will get there, we also know this road to recovery will be a long one.
While our families have rallied together to be there for our sister and her family emotionally, the financial burden is something that is going to be overwhelming. Brian is a CPA, running his own small business, and has provided a beautiful life for our sister and their three children: Chase, Willow and Summer. He has provided them a home full of love, faith and devotion. Now we want Brian and Meghan to focus on his recovery and not the financial strain. For this reason we have started this GoFundMe.
If you know Meghan and Brian, you know they have always lent a helping hand to their community, family and church and they are loved by so many. Any contribution to making life a little easier as they navigate through these challenging times would be greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray for daily improvements for Brian as well as strength for Meghan and the kids. Thank you for all the love, support and continued prayers.
