The Prop Block LLC Legal Defense Fund
Hello, we are Jarrod Hunt and Dean Newbury, co-owners of The Prop Block LLC, and we need your help. The business, and us as individuals, are being sued by a former business associate. There simply is no case here, but a legal response is necessary. We have secured legal counsel, and have already paid a $5000 retainer. We are asking for $8000 to cover the retainer and any additional legal fees that may accrue if the retainer is used up.
We wish we could afford to pay these fees ourselves, of course, but with the challenges of this current COVID economy, the fees are just too much for us to bear alone. We both live mostly paycheck to paycheck and have little in the way of extra funds to pay for something like this. The Prop Block LLC is a very small business that has only ever made modest profits. Currently, only Jarrod is working for the company as it is too small to sustain the livelihoods of two families. Dean resumed his former trade in the construction industry in June of 2019.
Jarrod Hunt, and his wife Esperanza, have five wonderful children. The Prop Block LLC is his primary source of income, which has been impacted by the economy. He also takes on side work when it becomes available so he can support his family. He has been a part of the film memorabilia business as both a hobbiest and a professional for over 15 years.
Dean Newbury is a single father of two. He is solely responsible for his two amazing kids, and all of the associated costs, including a mortgage. He is, unfortunately, also currently going through an expensive divorce and is draining his savings to pay for that.
