As the world was shutting down to fight a pandemic my beautiful friend Judy was gearing up to fight for her life against breast cancer. After a year of surgeries, treatments and good news moments, Todd, Judy, Cole and Leslie were settling into a more normal life. Judy was able to return to work, not in her normal nursing role but in a more ancillary role to allow her body to still heal and fight.
Life once again changed for the Powers family when on 6/9/2021 Todd was diagnosed with paralingueal and esophageal cancers. Both are grade 4 and fast growing. Due to the nature of this disease Todd is unable to continue to work. He will be splitting his treatment time between both U of M and Bronson Hospital. He and the family intend to fight this with the same vigor that Judy did and continues to fight hers. We, their friends and family, are asking for the communities help and support to help relieve some of the financial burden facing our friends through the next steps of Todd’s treatment.
As we all know every little bit helps, along with prayers we thank you in advance for helping them along this uncertain war on this vicious diseases!
