Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am raising funds for the cost of living for myself and my son, Ryker (age 10). My 24 years as a teacher in PDSB has been such a passion of mine, especially teaching Dance! I was at three schools, Queen Elizabeth Sr., Fletcher's Meadow SS, and David Suzuki SS.

I am no longer teaching due to my Huntington’s Disease (HD) symptoms. HD is a rare, genetic, neurodegenerative disease of the whole brain. My symptoms right now are cognitive, which is a big aspect of being a teacher.

I started a medical leave in October 2023, but have used all my short term sick days. I made the decision to start the process for Long Term Disability I can access.

I'm worried I don't have enough money to manage over the next few months as I transition to my LTD payments. It takes a couple months.
