The Porter Family - Home Fire Recovery Fund

Hi my name is Peter Rowe.

One of our own Islington Council colleagues and friend has tragically lost his home in the recent UK heatwave following the fires across the UK. The family home he shares with his wife and two children has been burnt to the ground along with all his personal possessions. Nothing from the house can be salvaged. They have lost everything.

More than 130 people had to be evacuated from their homes when a wildfire broke out in Beam Parklands and spread to nearby residential roads.

The terrifying flames engulfed almost everything in their path, leaving a trail of destruction and leaving streets almost unrecognisable; 14 homes and 25 vehicles were destroyed in the blaze, while more were severely damaged.

We will try to raise as much money as we can for Mark Porter and his family so they can at least start to recover and use the funds where they are needed most.
