The Pop Kids Van-ity Project: Help Us Go On Tour!
Donation protected
Hello everyone. As most of you know, I’ve started a business called The Pop Kids as part of my ongoing mid-life crisis, and the good news is it’s off to a cracking start online. Hooray!
From the start I’ve been donating ten percent of my takings from car boot sales to The Albert Kennedy Trust, which tackles homelessness within the LGBTQ+ youth community. But here’s the rub: it was fairly easy to do a car boot in London without a car - and they were hugely enjoyable to do - but now I’m up in Scotland me and my trolley just don’t cut it. In short, I need wheels.
What I’d love to do to grow the business and keep on donating to AKT is to get a small secondhand van, which will enable me to tour the country doing sales and fetes and picking up stock along the way at the nation’s charity shops, and also begin doing offering a house clearance service for collections of pop vinyl and general pop tat.
So. Against all my instincts not to do this, I’m asking for a little assistance with it. Absolutely any contribution will help me get a little to closer to realising my dream of delivering Mary Kiani records to undercatered enthusiasts in the Mull of Kintyre, and at the same time you’ll be helping young homeless LGBTQ+ people.
As I’m looking at a van that’s bit like a car, the vehicle will be named DOLORES VAN-CARTIER.
Anyone who contributes will receive an exclusive POP KID badge and a poptastic seven inch single from the 80s or amazing CD single from the 90s, chosen specially by me based on what I think you’d like. And also my eternal gratefulness and special place in my heart until it inevitably gives out.
Thanks for reading, and absolutely no pressure to do anything. Viva pop!
