The Polar Bear Project

The Polar Bear Project is a documentary directed by Hannah Walti about the Inuit village Inukjuak, Nunavik, looking back on the hundred years since Nanook of the North was released and the next hundred years. The film focuses on the land and how it will evolve in the changing climate and how the Inuit way of life will evolve with it. The documentary is made in collaboration with Inukjuak and its community and hear their thoughts on those changes and their stories from the past 100 years and life up north as it is now.

As a director, Hannah Walti aspires to look beyond herself, to question everything and to discover as much as she can about the world.

Making a film requires a certain budget, but even more so under such special and unique conditions.

Thus, the money raised for this film will help us to: pay for the equipment needed to shoot a film in very low temperature conditions, find clothes and equipment to protect our technical team from the cold, ensure transportation to the destination which can be rare and expensive, make a deal with an insurance company for all possible scenarios, find the necessary backup equipment to have on site - given that there is no telephone and cellular network.

Your help is invaluable and would lead us to a genuine and important project today.

We thank you for any contribution to this project.

Sincerely,

VOXFILMS.
