The Blueprint: This is a painting of the land and home by an artist commissioned with State Aerial Farm Statistics. The company shot over 16 million photos during its 60 year run. Its main mission was to preserve family history.
Hi! Shyretha and Michael Sheats here of The Plate Sale (TPS). We are leading a farm restoration project, in Carlton, GA, about 40 miles east of Athens, GA. The parcel is about 12 acres and has been dormant for more than 8 years. Shyretha's family farmed the land since the early 1900s and was a beacon to the Oglethorpe County neighborhood. Our #1 objective is to preserve this space so that it may serve the community and remain a generational property.
The project involves cleaning and conditioning the land so that we can move towards building a food co-op to provide sustainably grown food to the community, to source to TPS's food and beverage ventures, and other area restaurants. TPS has a certified Conservation Activity Plan (CAP plan) created and has begun implementing this Spring 2020 season. Following this plan will help us obtain our organic farming certification.
Our focus this year is:
• conditioning the soils
• installing an irrigation system
• native plant conservation
• erosion management
• preserving historical and cultural aspects of the farm house
We are requesting donations to help us aquire materials, pay fees for assistance, and to supplement funding received by grants.

Thanking you tremendously in advance!
