Late September 2019, Kurt had an Ischemic stroke, or a lack of blood flow to the brain due to a blood clot in the brain stem. He spent a little over a week in the hospital. He has a history of heart issues including a major heart attack in 2006 leaving him with a pacemaker. His heart works at 30%, and has existing clots and therefore takes a variety of medication to keep it under control. The stroke effected Kurt's vision primarily.
Late October 2019, Tracey was rushed to the hospital with acute hypoxic respiratory failure. She spent a week in a medically induced coma, on a ventilator, and with a balloon pump in her heart due to complications. Her heart was working around 5% when admitted and has been raised to around 30% at this time. She is awake and has been taken off of the ventilator but there will be a long road to recovery. She is still in the hospital, will be on bed rest until further notice, and once discharged will be wearing a life vest.
Because of these two events neither are able to return to work for the time being and would greatly appreciate some help with bills that are building up, food, medication & any supplies necessary, etc.
UPDATE #1
Tracey has been discharged from the hospital. She has been allowed to recover at home. She has to get around with a walker until further notice, still does not have a voice, and has to take a variety of costly medications.
Kurt is finally getting some much needed rest after spending the last two weeks up at the hospital day and night (while still recovering from his own stroke). He and the kids will be taking care of Tracey the best that they can. Here's to the future!
UPDATE #2
Tracey is at her first doctor's appointment today after everything happened. It is with a cardiologist to make sure her heart is recovering properly. She is still wearing the life vest. She is walking better and her voice is coming back slowly but surely. Kurt is doing well aside from his vision.
