The Pickett Family's Next Chapter

Hi, my name is Charlie and I am fundraising for my best friend Davis, his wife Amanda, and their two beautiful little girls. On September 29th, they lost their home in a fire. Fortunately for this beautiful family, they were not home when the fire started.

The reason why they're not at home, is because for the entirety of 2021 (and some of 2020) they've been living in an apartment in St. Louis near a hospital (their home is 3 hours from the hospital). Eira, their youngest daughter, was diagnosed with a heart condition before her first birthday. She spent birthdays, holidays, Christmas, living in this hospital bed, patiently waiting her turn for a (new to her) heart.

Through breakthroughs and setbacks, traveling back and forth to maintain the home and career, a pandemic... this family has endured it all with patience and grace beyond what the best of us are capable of.

In August, just over a month ago, this little Angel got her heart.

Unfortunately, that's not the end of the story. Organ transplants have many complications, and over the course of the next 30 days this family dealt with them all. While she's not out of the woods yet, as of a week ago things were looking up. Until the fire.

This family does not deserve this.

I've known Davis for over 20 years, and all he's ever wanted as far back as I can remember is a family. Someone to love, and love him back. He's my Best Friend. He's going to be the Best Man in my wedding.

And he could use a little help.
