Hello!
I didn't really like asking for help, but I don't think I can hold out for much longer.
So here we go! Above is a picture of my mother! She is responsible for taking care of my grandmother (doctor appointments, taking medicine, assisting with walking, etc.) and was the primary money maker when taking care of bills in the household. Back in 2017 unfortunately she got hit with Esophageal Cancer and despite her recovery, things have been a little rocky since then but we have been able to manage.
Then in October of 2019 the cancer came back however my mom and I decided to be strong about it, as we both thought she can beat it again. In December she started Chemotherapy and despite our efforts to get ahead so that way we can handle future bills one at a time, things got bad real quick. The first thing my mom did to help was cut out all sources of entertainment from her bills (Netflix, Cable, Internet, etc). I don't live with my mom but I was offering as much money as I could while also trying to take care of my own expenses. Between the two of us we were keeping things afloat for a while, but then towards the beginning of February we found ourselves concerned about two major problems. The first being that we didn't have enough to pay for this month's mortgage and we were already behind three months. On the flip side of this though, if we were to pay the mortgage we wouldn't have enough for my mother's next Chemotherapy treatment.
It really sucks having to decide between paying for a place to live or your medical treatment with the risk of getting worse if not taken. Thankfully the hospital pointed us towards charities that we could apply for that would pay bills for us. Which was great even though they were one-offs, we were able to get us stabilized financially even if it was for a little bit. Unfortunately though now we find ourselves right back in the same spot as before. Then the second major problem occurred, my mom developed nostril cancer.
Due to the Esophageal Cancer my mom already can't swallow anything and is constantly dealing with mucus build-up. Now with the Nostril Cancer in the mix it became near impossible for my mom to breathe and compromised her respiratory system.
On March 4th, the doctors told us that the Nostril Cancer has metastasize into her lungs and was terminal.
During all of this I have taken over all finances and responsibility of caring for my grandmother because my mom is in so much pain and she has enough stuff that she has to think about. I didn't want her having to worry about anything but her well being.
But as I said earlier, I don't see myself able to hold out much longer. Between the mortgage, medical debt, my mothers treatment, medications for my grandmother and mom, and standard day to day living expenses are becoming increasingly harder to provide. Now I have to possibly add on funeral services to this too. It's just too much for me.
I get that everyone has their own struggle though so if you can't donate that is fine I understand. I just ask for your prayers and best wishes regarding my mom.
