The Photocopy Club: IN TRANSIT
Help us turn our van into a travelling zine library for rural communities

For over a decade, The Photocopy Club has been celebrating DIY publishing, zine culture, and community photography. Through open exhibitions, workshops, and hundreds of self-published zines, we’ve made creativity accessible, affordable, and hands-on.

Now, we’re ready to take it back on the road for 2026 — to the towns, villages, and communities that don’t usually get to experience independent print culture.

We’re raising £8,000 to transform our van into IN TRANSIT — a mobile zine library, exhibition space, and workshop hub that will travel across rural and coastal areas of the UK, bringing zine-making and photography to people who might never have access otherwise.

Why we’re doing this

So much of the UK’s creative energy is focused in cities — but creativity exists everywhere.
Rural communities are full of stories, artists, and voices that often go unseen. IN TRANSIT will help change that.

By taking The Photocopy Club on the road, we’ll:

Bring zine-making workshops and pop-up exhibitions to rural schools, libraries, and community halls

Build connections between city-based artists and local makers

Create a, accessible resource where people can see, swap, and make zines

Celebrate local stories through print and photography

We want IN TRANSIT to prove that you don’t need to be in London, Bristol, or Glasgow to be part of the conversation — because creativity belongs to everyone.

What your support will build

Your funding will help us transform the van into a fully equipped travelling zine library:

Refit the van interior with safe, weatherproof shelving for 1000+ photography zines

Add a group workshop and office space, allowing people to take time to create their own zine with all the tools provided

Create a fold-out pop-up space for exhibitions and workshops anywhere — village greens, markets, fields, car parks

Launch our 2026 IN TRANSIT rural tour, visiting towns and villages across the UK

We’ll host affordable community print days, artist takeovers, and open library events — keeping the DIY spirit alive in every stop we make.
