The Phillippi Triplets

My sister Kristy and her husband Mike found out this summer they were expecting spontaneous triplets! After the initial shock wore off, the reality of the risks associated with her type of pregnancy set in.

 

On Tuesday, December 14th, there was a rupture of membranes and Kristy was admitted to the Mother Baby Center under close observation. She was able to keep the boys safe, growing and stable for 6 more days. On Monday, December 20th, via emergency c-section, Kristy delivered their triplet sons at 31 weeks. Triplet A, Gabriel Michael, has his wings in Heaven. Triplet B, Finn Gordon, was born weighing 1 lb. 15 oz. Triplet C, Luca John, was born weighing 3 lbs. 11 oz. Finn and Luca are in the NICU being taken care of by the best team of nurses, doctors, and specialists.

 

There are many hardships that come with long term NICU stays. Finn and Luca have a tough journey ahead of them to come home, so any support we can provide Mike and Kristy will help them focus on fighting along side their sons.

 

Mike and Kristy are already missing an irreplaceable piece of their hearts and will honor Gabriel every day.  While they navigate their new normal in the NICU, they do so in remembrance of Gabriel. The Phillippi family plans to do a tribute in Gabriel’s name with the help of your generosity.

 

Our families appreciate the overwhelming flood of support we have received over the last few days. Please continue to pray for the health of Finn and Luca and strength for Kristy and Mike in the weeks ahead.
