The Phillip Nelson Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Phillip Nelson was an English Teacher and coach at Twinfield Union School for over thirty years before his retirement in 1999. Well-liked and respected by both his students and teaching peers, Phillip dedicated his entire adult life to being an educator, whether on a court, a field, or in the classroom. He also served proudly as a volunteer firefighter with the Plainfield Fire Department for those three decades.
After Phillip’s passing in January of 2022, his former Twinfield High School students, including his children, created this scholarship to honor his memory and encourage students at Twinfield to enter the fields of either education or first responder.
In an effort to establish a scholarship that will be able to be self-sustaining for years to come, we are seeking to fund this scholarship at the $10,000 level. Of course, more money means more scholarship opportunities for future Twinfield graduates and the ability for Phillip’s impact to live on.
