Phil was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle & friend to those around him. He is our hero, the high-fiving nice guy that you could lean on, knowing he'd have your back regardless of what he was going through. Knowing Phil meant that you knew what sacrifice & kindness looked like in the flesh. Phil was the type of person you would be continuously shocked by since he always seemed to beat the odds against him. He's a fighter, a leader, a lover & an incredible example of what it means to push through for what you truly love. One of his mottos "Mind Over Matter" was something he kept at the forefront of his every day whilst maintaining a positive mindset towards his particularly unique situation. His story being immeasurable to articulate brings difficulty in encapsulating everything that happened over the past two years. Here is a glimpse into his story.

In July 2020, Phil's remarkable journey began, leading him on the road to his urgent need for an unexpected heart transplant. This was a war that he faced head-on with full faith that he was going to come home to his family after the transplant. Which he did. For the following two years, Phil continuously faced & overcame various obstacles, as the intricacy of his state grew to be more strenuous. Unfortunately, his cancer aggressively returned just before Christmas 2022. Phil brought in the New Year surrounded by loved ones & peacefully passed on January 1st 2023. His faith in the Living God & Holy Spirit, mental strength & optimistic outlook is what always kept him going through his miraculous journey.

Phil was the main source that provided for his wife & three kids for the past 22 years. With his unexpected passing, the financial responsibility has fallen upon his wife & 18-year-old son. Any help you can provide in this time of grieving will alleviate some of the financial pressure that the Young household has endured such as medical, funeral & monthly expenses.

Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read a little bit about Phil's story. We appreciate any & all contributions at this time.
May God bless you & your family in the New Year.
