The Phengsavath Family

A few years ago, Nikha's and Jaman’s dad was diagnosed with cancer and had a cystectomy (bladder removal). Unfortunately this season, their mom, Sy Phengsavath, is diagnosed with a large Meningioma (non-cancerous brain tumor), as of March 2023, located in the frontal lobes of both sides of her brain. Undetected and grew for more than 20 years, she experienced multiple “unknown” falls in Feb 2023 that indicated more was occurring internally. The tumor has caused vision loss of her left eye and a loss of smell and taste.

The surgery is June 28th, 2023 for the total removal of the tumor. The family is doing what they can to help her stay focused on her health and recover well. Nikha is her primary caretaker and holds many responsibilities with medical and household decisions.

This GoFundMe is set up as an opportunity to show our love and support for Nikha, Jaman, their mom, and the entire family. All funds will go towards medical expenses, medicine, groceries, transportation, and meals. Ultimately, we hope that these efforts make life a little easier for the family as they navigate appointments, surgery, and recovery today and in the weeks ahead.
