There is a café in Paris where the spirit of the Phantom of the Opera resides. A few years ago, the lights went out and the shutters closed. At the time, a call for donations brought together wonderful supporters — passionate souls, phans, and loyal friends. Thanks to them, the spirit of the place stayed alive, hidden in the shadows... waiting to be reborn.

✨ That moment has come: the café is reopening its doors!

High up in Montmartre, Véronique Leroux (the great-granddaughter of Gaston Leroux) is bringing this warm, welcoming, and history-filled place back to life. A fresh chapter, a new adventure… under a new name:
Chez Gaston Leroux

Yes, this café is truly the lair of Gaston Leroux, author of the legendary Phantom of the Opera. A haven of shadows and words, where Rouletabille may have left his notebooks behind, and where one might still hear the soft footsteps of the Phantom.

You can still be part of this adventure.

By contributing to this new fundraising campaign, you’ll help complete the final touches and welcome the first visitors in the best possible conditions. You’ll be supporting the reopening of a unique place in Paris, where literary memory meets Montmartre warmth and community spirit.

And most importantly: Your name will be part of the lair of the Phantom!
A plaque titled “Friends of Gaston Leroux” will proudly display the names of all contributors (past and present), a tribute to your loyalty, your passion… and your generous support.

Le Fantôme de l’Opéra a retrouvé son antre

Il y a un café à Paris où réside l'esprit du fantôme de l'opéra. Il y a quelques années, les lumières se sont éteintes, les volets se sont clos. À l’époque, un appel à dons avait rassemblé de merveilleux soutiens, des passionnés, des curieux, des fidèles. Grâce à eux, l’âme du lieu est restée vivante, tapie dans l’ombre… en attendant de renaître.

✨ Ce moment est arrivé : le café rouvre ses portes !

Dans les hauteurs de Montmartre, Véronique Leroux (l'arrière petite fille de Gaston Leroux) redonne vie à ce lieu convivial, chaleureux et plein d’histoire. Un nouveau souffle, une nouvelle aventure… sous un nouveau nom :

Chez Gaston Leroux

Oui, ce café est l’antre même de Gaston Leroux, l’auteur du légendaire Fantôme de l’Opéra. Un écrin d’ombres et de mots, où Rouletabille a laissé traîner ses calepins et où l’on croit entendre les pas feutrés du Fantôme.

Vous pouvez encore faire partie de cette belle histoire.

En participant à cette nouvelle collecte, vous aiderez à finaliser les derniers aménagements et à accueillir les premiers visiteurs dans les meilleures conditions. Vous accompagnez la réouverture d’un lieu unique à Paris, entre mémoire littéraire et convivialité montmartroise.

Et surtout : Votre nom figurera dans l’antre des amoureux du fantôme !
