The People's Community Fridge Program (Sustain)
WHAT WE ARE RAISING THE FUNDS FOR
As of 7/13/21 the Town Council of Parrish, AL approved our proposal to build the first community fridge for the program outside of the Town Hall. We are raising funds to purchase the fridge, build the outdoor structure that will house the fridge, cover any expense for the installation of an outdoor power outlet, and cover the fist full stocking of the fridge with fresh food for our community! All money donated goes straight to this project and any extra funds will be put aside to help cover stocking the fridge with food!
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The People’s Community Fridge Program is a community fridge project seeking to bring free healthy food to Walker County and its communities. This program exists as a response to the food insecurity in our cities, towns, and communities where access to fresh food is sparse. We’re dedicated to combating this lack of consistent, reliable access to fresh food by bringing awareness to food apartheid within the Walker County area and providing immediate relief to our neighbors in need through acts of mutual aid and solidarity.
