Hello, and please take a moment to read about those who were affected recently by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.

My name is Imani Blair, and I am writing this message on behalf of my mother, Tracey Blair. And I am here to talk about my family, who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa. Several days ago, I received photos of my uncle's home that had been reduced to ruins. All of my family in the southeastern area of Jamaica were severely affected, and the stories told prompted me to raise money towards helping my uncles and the community that was affected

In October of 2025, Hurricane Melissa wreaked havoc across Jamaica and, unfortunately, took the homes and livelihoods of many individuals in the southwestern part of the island. As a Jamaican living in America, it is so deeply saddening to see what has become of my family's homes, food, clothes, and shelter, effectively uninhabitable. Has left most of rural Jamaica in shambles to gain finances and resources to work again, for many in the following communities: Goodhope, Burnt Ground, Richeive, Park Mountain, and the general surrounding Santa Cruz area.

Attached are photos of the state one of many, many homes in the area currently look like, roofless, wet, resources completely taken by the water. The money from this GoFundMe will be going towards the restoration of houses in Saint Elizabeth, food resources, and the beginning of bringing the people of Saint Elizabeth back to some level of normalcy.

Hello everyone, it has been a few days since this go fund me has been posted, and we just wanted to thank you so much for your donations and words to help us out. We have currently raised 10% of our current goal and and we are so grateful to have a supportive community around us. So far, this money can and will be put towards the restoration of the community in Saint Elizabeth and the surrounding parish. Photos and updates will be regular as we get them from Jamaica.
