The people of Carriacou

Hi, my name is Cheri and I travelled to this beautiful Island of Carriacou with my teenage daughter just back in May.

Our journey there was to give my daughter the feel of the culture where her dad’s family originate from and to gain history on her ancestry, to help her identify with her own mixed heritage. 

Our stay in the Caribbean Islands was amazing, the people of Carriacou welcomed us, made us feel safe and we felt instantly like family, we made life long friends who we will forever treasure in our hearts and hopefully see them again.

Having spent time on the Island, I now feel absolutely devastated for what they have all now suffered. 

I want to raise as much as I can for the people in Carriacou who have lost homes, businesses and livelihood from the Hurricane Beryl, to help rebuild and support them in what ever way I can.

The money donated will help towards essential items such as non-perishable food, water (which they will desperately need) adult/children’s clothes/shoes, toiletries, nappies, dry baby food, animal feed.

I will be buying items to ship across, along with any donated items received also.

The folklore of Carriacou are some of the most wonderful, humble, welcoming and friendliest people I have met, they need to help!!

My heart really is broken, to see this little gem of an Island I called Paradise just gone.

There are families who now don’t have homes, no beds to sleep in, have lost all what they owned, children and animals who have suffered amongst it all.

The place sits so close to my heart and feels like home because the people of Carriacou made me feel at home and more so the love showed towards my daughter and I was immense, the least I can do is show them support at this difficult time.
