This weekend (September 14th and 15th), I will be competing on an 11 person team to run over 200 miles in 24 hours. I am responsible for an 8 mile leg, 7 mile leg and finishing with a 3 mile leg.
If we are able to raise $2,500 for the PenaltyBox Foundation I will run my final leg in a hockey helmet.
If we are able to raise $5,000 for the PenaltyBox Foundation, I will run my final leg in a hockey helmet and shoulder pads.
If we are somehow able to raise $10,000, I will run my final leg in full hockey gear, minus shin pads and skates.
The PenaltyBox Foundation supports community hockey programs and individuals with micro financial grants and equipment. Officially, a Delaware Corporation, The PenaltyBox Relief Fund, we have submitted our application to the IRS for 501c3 status. We hope to be approved shortly, but are working in the mean time to grant scholarships and gear.
