The Paul Family Fundraiser

This GoFundMe is to help rally around the Paul family, Bubba, Merissa, Landry (8), and Jaxton (5), while they deal with Bubba's long road of recovery that lies ahead. In the early hours of Monday September 2nd, Bubba took a fall down a flight of stairs while at a cabin with his friends. Two people heard the fall and were able to get to him immediately. They found he was unresponsive with a head injury that was bleeding profusely. They called 911 and paramedics transported him to the area hosptial where he was stabilized. From there it was determined he needed a trauma hospital to better deal with his injuries and was flown by fixed wing plane to North Memorial. When he arrived at North, he was taken into surgery where a craniotomy was performed to relieve pressure on the right side of his brain. Even though that was successful, it did reveal the bruising on the left side of the brain was more than they had initially thought. The bruise is located in the part of the brain that controls speech and cognitive functions. Currently, Bubba is on a breathing machine and the amazing team of doctors, nurses, nurses aids, and respiratory therapists have him in a medically induced coma to allow his body to heal. This without a doubt, will be a long road mentally, emotionally, and especially financially and physically for all of them. We do not know what the coming days will bring for the Paul family, but he has an amazing support system. Merissa is splitting her time between the hosptial and trying to be home with the boys to keep their schedule as normal as possible during this difficult time. Any little bit will help as they deal with all of this in the days, weeks, and months to come.
